Book Review? Why not!

Several months ago I stumbled across the fact that I could receive free copies of new books from Bethany House Publishers if I would simply write a book review after completing the book. I signed up right away! I LOVE to read, so much so that I often don't let myself get started on a book because I have a very hard time putting it down.

The first book I received was Chasing the Sun by Tracie Peterson. I am always very skeptical when I open a book from an author I have never heard of or has not been recommended to me by anyone else.

But as I got into the book I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't a typical Christian romance novel. The main character, Hannah was very thoroughly developed. The conflict between Hannah and the man she eventually married carried throughout the whole book making you wonder what would happen.

I am a lover of historical fiction so therefore I enjoyed how the author wove together differing opinions of the Civil War and how each family had to make a choice as to where they stood.

The gospel was presented clearly in this book and scripture was mentioned throughout the everyday living of the characters.

I will definitely be looking to read more books by Tracie Peterson! (when I allow myself the time to read that is!)
